Most of my illustrations start as drawing exercises in freeing my sub-conscious, letting the pen or pencil fill space with geometric shapes and simple images. Come what may.

 

When a sketch or drawing turns up a compelling scene I will then usually scan the image and work on it digitally. I like to play with color, pattern and texture to refine the concept. I use these illustrations as draft ideas for many of my paintings.

 

They make pretty good stickers too! :)
